How is mass related to density?
Mass is divided by volume to give density of an object
This object is yellow and most often floats in bathtubs. It is bouyant.
A rubber duck
What is a cell?
The smallest living unit of life.
This will ALWAYS stay the same in an experiment.
A Constant!
What is density?
Density is how much stuff can fit into a space
Name an object that DOES NOT have buoyancy.
Rock, car, etc.
What is ATP?
Energy!
True or false, an independent variable will stay the same and not change.
FALSE. Variable means change
If I break a chocolate bar in half, what happens to its density?
It stays the same! The density of an object is always the same, no matter the size.
Name an object that IS NOT buoyant.
Varies
What is the job of the DIGESTIVE system?
To break down food into smaller parts that can be absorbed into cells and used for body processes.
Classify the following words, and explain the title of the categories:
Pink, Orange, Pickle, Lettuce, Blue, Mayonnaise
Sandwich toppings and colors
If the MASS of a cookie is 2, and the VOLUME is 4, what would I do to find the density?
WHY did the fudge striped cookie float for EVERYONE?
It had chocolate on the bottom?
What is the name of the female reproductive cell?
An egg
Explain why a cruise ship can float, but a cookie, which is much smaller, can sink.
The cruise ship is buoyant! It has a density that is less than the water it floats in. (At least as long as too much stuff isn't packed in to the ship!)
What object has THE MOST density?
a feather, a brick, YOU
A brick! It has the most mass in its volume!
If YOU are buoyant in water, does that mean you will float in all liquids? Why or why not?
NO. Water has a density of 1, so things less than 1 float, but not all liquids have a density of 1.
What is the point of mitosis?
To make new cells! So you grow and repair!
