What is the procedure for extreme cases of inmates acting out?
Contact your shift manager, who may authorize the discontinuation of the escort. Officers may return to the sending centre, or be directed to the nearest law enforcement agency detachment. For immediate safety concerns, call 911 and request assistance from law enforcement of jurisdiction.
What may officers do to minimize the risk of injury to violent and psychologically unstable inmates?
Padding (i.e towel) may be used when necessary to minimize risk of injury to inmates.
