This cranial nerve is the chief sensory nerve of the face and also controls the muscles used in chewing.
Fifth cranial nerve/trigeminal nerve
This trigeminal branch affects the forehead, upper eyelids, and front portion of the scalp.
Ophthalmic nerve
This nerve affects the skin of the lower lip and chin.
Mental nerve
This nerve lies at the back of the head and affects the scalp up to the top of the head.
Greater occipital nerve
This sensory-motor nerve supplies the fingers.

Maxillary nerve

Auriculotemporal nerve

Radial nerve
Also called the facial nerve, this cranial nerve controls facial expression and salivary secretions.

Buccal nerve
Located at the side of the neck, this nerve affects the front and sides of the neck down to the breastbone.
Cervical cutaneous nerve
This nerve affects the little-finger side of the arm and the palm of the hand.
Ulnar nerve
Also called the accessory nerve, this cranial nerve controls motion of the neck and shoulder muscles.
Eleventh cranial nerve
This branch affects the lower eyelid, side of the nose, upper lip, and mouth.
Infraorbital nerve
This branch affects muscles behind the ear at the base of the skull.
Posterior auricular nerve
This nerve at the side of the neck affects the face, ears, neck, and parotid gland.
Greater auricular nerve
This smaller sensory-motor nerve supplies the arm and hand and is smaller than the ulnar and radial nerves.
Median nerve

Supraorbital nerve

Temporal nerve
Under the seventh cranial nerve, these nerves affect the side of the neck and the platysma muscle.
Cervical nerves
Overreaction of this autonomic nerve can suddenly lower blood pressure and cause fainting.
