when a barrier separates a population

Describe the Peppered Moth Evolution Drawing?
It started with an original population of some black and some Peppered moths. Then, smoke from the factories over the trees and the Peppered moths were mostly light making them easy to see and eat. When the smoke cleared, only the black Peppered moths survived.
In the speciation lab, there were groups of beetles that were split up. Suppose in 100 years the beetles from group 1 came back into contact with the beetles from group 2. Will they be able to reproduce with each other or will they be seperate species? Why?
If enough genetic differences and behavioral physical or ecological changes have occurred then they likely will not be able to successfully reproduce. In that case they would be considered separate species because reproductive isolation is a key factor. If they can still interbreed and produce fertile offspring then they would be considered the same species despite being separated for a long time.
