What is another guidance God gives us to helps?
God gives us the gift of grace to do what he commands.

Jesus' teaching about loving God, others, and ourselves. When we follow the Great Commandment we follow all the other commandments too.
What is sacrament of confession?
What is sacrament of forgiveness
*act of telling our sins to a priest in this sacrament
*God forgives our sins thru words and actions of priest. The priest absolves you from your sins and you are clean and pure sin-free again. This is called absolution
What is the act of contrition?

special prayer to tell God that we are sorry for wrong choices we have made
What happens after we say the act of contrition?
the priest says the words of absolution. he stretches his right hand over our heads and says a prayer

priest wearing a purple stole. this is a sign of priestly office. PURPLE IS SIGN OF PENANCE HELPS US TO REMEMBER TO SHOW OUR SORROW SINS BY DOING THE PENANCE THE PRIEST GIVES US.
What is a moral choice?
the choice between right & wrong, between obeying one of commandments and not obeying it
What is a mortal sin?
person knows it is very seriously wrong and freely chooses to do it anyway. mortal sin breaks out friendship w/ God and turns us away from him. We no longer share in God's grace.
What is a question make an examination of conscience?
Did I take time to pray?
Did I go to mass on Sundays and other holy days?

helps us know what is right and what is wrong, what to do and what not to do. this helps us obey God's laws

less serious than mortal sin. this weakens our friendship w/ God but we still share in god's grace

NO they must go to confession and have a good confession fully being honest about their sins
