Finally, violent media suggest to children that using violence is an acceptable way to get what you want.
Explain how victims of child abuse and elder abuse may be similar.
Very young or very old victims of abuse may not be able to report what is being done to them. Young children may be nonverbal, and elders may have dementia. Both of these populations may be more easily manipulated or intimidated by their abusers into denying the abuse.
