Desk/Chargers

Who should be behind the desk? Absolutely NO kids. 

Please keep them to the appropriate device. Bring in your own charger as needed.

What is helping out?

Ask your team if you can help out before you leave...or do something quick (take trash out, disinfect changing station, pick up toys)

Where should kids stay out of?

preschool area (supervised), nap area (supervised), bathroom (unless permission/as needed), desk, storage closet.

Hanging out.

You should not be flocked to the desk or in the same area as the other staff. Spread out! You should not all be at the desk.

What is engaging with kids?

Games, activities, reading a book, dancing, singing a song, monitoring, scanning the room, initiating activities, coloring, crafts

Holding kids

Please make sure you hold them in a safe manner. A kid should never fall out of your arms, or be held by anyone that is not family or employees.

What is fair attention?

Make sure all kids are getting the attention they need. Don't leave any kids out from the attention they need.

Floors...cleaner still broke. use broom and mop the best you can

The machines are in the back. Any cloth items - blankets, baby equipment (bouncers, walkers, rockers - pull them apart)

What is keeping busy?

You should always be doing something. Sanitizing/disinfecting/cleaning toys or an area. Take kids to the park. Create an activity or craft or game.

What is organizing?

Toys will have labeled bins to be more organized..that means you should be helping children pick up and put away toys to help teach them where they go.

What are Fuel resources?

window cleaner, kleenex, sanitizing spray, laundry, paper towels, toilet paper, not sure..go look!

What are diapers?

The schedule should be every 2 hours. You start when we open at 7:30a. Every child should be checked at entry, then you put them on the same schedule as everyone else, or as needed in between. They should still be marked on our schedule.

calmly, at their level, positive, not demeaning, use words they understand, black and white

Please be mindful of the ceiling tiles. If children don't listen then let them know they can roll the balls..or they get taken away.

Cash receipts in the cash box MUST match invoices on BrightWheel including staff.

Homebase

ALL scheduling requests and shift trades go on here. You can edit times you need off. You can not clock in more than 10 minutes early unless it's approved. Early is on time, on time is late, and is unacceptable.

Organization

Make sure things stay organized like...closet, cubbies, toy bins.

When is a timeout appropriate?

When a child needs disciplinary action. 1 minute per year (3 yrs means 3 minutes) under 3 won't work well. Talk to them when they get up with WHY!

What is the Yuck Bucket?

Use it!! Any toys put in mouths, found in the bathroom, that you know need to be cleaned.
