Make eye contact, face your body towards her, and choose a greeting from the poster on the door.
Where do you keep your water bottle during the day?
In the hydration station!
How should 5th graders walk in a hallway?
Number order, eyes facing forwards, zipped lips, no gaps in the line.
What should be in your supply pouch?
Where do you charge your chromebook?
At home. Bring your chromebook back fully charged each day.
What should you do before KYAV begins?
Bring in all your supplies, sit at your desk, sharpen pencils, take out writing journal, and/or take a sip of water.
What kind of drinks may you bring to school and in what containers?
Only water! Sealed water bottles only.
How will Ms.Trusso release you for recess and lunch?
When the classroom is clean, tasks are complete, students are calm, the line up routine is done correctly, and the line chant is spoken.
How do you earn money or Trusso Tokens in this class?
Working classroom jobs, completing challenge work, completing all the week's homework, extremely kind behavior, clean desk each week.
What is your chromebook used for in Ms.Trusso's class?
Assessments, IXL, Blooket, Fastbridge testing, essays. (School work only!)
What should my morning journal look like?
Journal number, date, only skipping one line between journal entries, writing until the timer goes off, and writing without fear of making a mistake!
What are appropriate times to ask to use the restroom?
Lunch, Recess, Brain Breaks, or Independent work time if you are done with the task.
Who should you report incidents to at recess or lunch?
Noon aide
How many Trusso Tokens do you need to pay for rent each month?

How do you check out a book from Ms.Trusso's library?
Ask the librarian to check out a book, have them fill out the form, be gentle with use, check back in with the librarian when you are done.
What activity will be doing every morning to build community and learn more about each other? What does this look like?
Good Things: Ms.Trusso will pull sticks for 1-2 students, then the students share any good thing in their day or life, and finally the active listeners will ask 1-2 questions.
How long should you be at the hydration station?
Less than 1 minute.
How should we treat balls and other sports supplies provided by teachers?
Play fairly, be gentle, if it goes over the fence or pops then report it to a noon aide or teacher. Taking accountability will earn you more respect and maintain trust!
What do you do if you lose or break supplies?
Be honest with Ms.Trusso. Use Trusso Tokens to buy new supplies.
What do the numbers mean on most of Ms.Trusso's books?
In the ones places of the decimal is the grade level the book is for.
If other students are off task and creating a learning barrier for you, what strategy can you use to remind them of the expectation?
Check them using the hand check symbol quietly and quickly.
Raise R sign language symbol at the appropriate time, get up quietly without disruptions, sign out, take the bathroom pass. When you get back sign back in and return the pass.
How should we transition to specials?
Line up at the correct teacher's door, walk, bring necessary supplies. If you are in band or strings then you must take instrument/music with you, no going back later.
When can I buy from the Trusso Store?
Last Friday of every month with left over money after paying rent.
What happens if I do not charge my chromebook when it is needed in class?
A warning, then loss of use, then a phone call home.
