What is Similies ?

A simile is a figure of speech that compares two otherwise dissimilar things, often introduced by the words like or as (‘you are like a summer’s day’).

What is the story about? 

King Lear Summary King Lear divides his kingdom among the two daughters who flatter him and banishes the third one who loves him. His eldest daughters both then reject him at their homes, so Lear goes mad and wanders through a storm. His banished daughter returns with an army, but they lose the battle and Lear, all his daughters and more, die.

What is Drama? 

Drama meaning: A drama is a type of literature that is written for the purpose of being performed in front of an audience. This type of writing is written in the form of a script, and the story is told through the lines of the characters played by actors.

Haiku Poem 

To make a haiku poem, we need 3 lines, the first line must have 5 syllables, the second 7 and finally 5. For example:

Limerick Poem 

A limerick is a poem that consists of five lines in a single stanza with a rhyme scheme of AABBA.

What is Metaphor? 

A metaphor is when a word is used in place of another to suggest a likeness (‘you are a summer’s day’).

Scenery 

 The first half of King Lear is set in the safe, comfortable palaces of Lear, Gloucester and Lear’s daughters. However, as the play progresses, an increasing number of its scenes take place in dirty, unsafe surroundings: the heath in a violent storm, a hovel in the middle of nowhere, the fields and beaches near Dover during a military invasion.
