What are uncorrected refractive errors and cataracts?
Something that cannot be treated with glasses, contact lenses, eye drops, other types of medical therapy, or surgery
What is blindness?
A thin membrane at the back of your eye that senses light and sends signals back to your brain
What is the retina?
The ability to see things in 3D and how far away things are from you
What is depth perception?
A type of blindness that leaves you with very limited vision
What is partial blindness?
Poor vision that you are born with and is usually genetic
What is congenital blindness
The part of the retina that gives the eye clear vision in the direct line of sight
What is the macula?
The process in which the brain compares images from both eyes
What is convergence?
Vision damage from vitamin A deficiency makes the cornea dry damaging it and the retina
What is nutritional blindness?
A common eye disorder that occurs in people 50 and up, and can blur your vision and start in one eye and transfer to the other eye
What is dry macular degeneration?
Captures photons and transmits them along neuronal pathways as electrical and chemical signals for the brain to perceive as a visual picture.
What does the retina do?
When both eyes see clearly and the brain successfully processes a single image.
