Timebanking is not charity. Just as we all have gifts, we all have needs. Every member both gives and receives. Through this mutual exchange, we affirm our shared humanity and reject one-sided relationships.

Who are practicing organizational members?
In the timebank, one hour of dog walking and one hour of financial coaching are valued the same.
What is the principle that all time is valued equally?
This is how members ask the community for support or want to learn something new.
What is a request?
All time is valued equally. We uplift work that is often undervalued in the market economy—such as caregiving, emotional labor, and community support—and recognize its essential role in our collective well-being.
What is Redefining Work?
Anyone 18 or older living in the Mesilla Valley, regardless of background or identity.
Who can join the Mesilla Valley Timebank?
Members earn time credits by providing services, joining group projects, or attending approved events like orientation.
What are ways to earn time credits?
A shared activity where several members participate and earn time credits together.
What is a group exchange?
We meet one another with care, curiosity, and openness. We aim to engage across differences, avoid judgment, and expand our understanding of each other’s lived experiences.
What is Respect?
Background checks are not required because our timebank is built on trust, community accountability, and shared responsibility, with members expected to uphold our core values.
