it represents how Jesus spent 40 days fasting and praying to god even though he was being tempted by the devil. it also well represents the preparation for easter which marks his resurrection

it allows us for a moment of peace and allows us to talk to god without judgment of others because god is always here to listen with out judgement. this can grow our relationship with him
