FORMING
Ian, Logan, and Rachel were at table "Capacity for Wonder" where they were first introduced. Ian and Logan met Mileini when our small group was first made; Mileini and Rachel have known each other since elementary school.
TASK ROLES
Information giver- Mileini, Provides and synthesizes ideas and alternatives to members.
Procedural technician- Rachel, Performs tasks on behalf of the group
INTERCONNECTEDNESS
We quickly realized we all have pretty similar senses of humor. We make each other laugh pretty frequently throughout class and enjoy teasing each other (and Ian specifically).
WHO
The members of "Fab at Fifty" and the particpating students and staff at the connection center.
Didn't know what "Dopey" meant
Who is Ian?
STORMING
We went into our storming stage around our first test. We had clashing personalities and had not established a system of conflict-resolution. Due to this, not everyone felt heard during the test.
MAINTENANCE ROLES
Harmonizer- Ian, Mediates differences that arise among members.
Follower- Logan, Accepts ideas and alternatives.
INTERDEPENDENCE
Ian asserts that the rest of "us" are "dependent" on him. In reality, Ian and Logan are dependent upon Mileini and Rachel. While we were typing this, they were talking about video games.
WHAT
We brought different clothes, foods, music, games, and displays of our personal cultures to share with each other and the students of Layton High who wanted to participate.
Who is Logan?
NORMING
After the first test, we started becoming more comfortable with one another. We developed systems of conflict resolution and role emergence began.
DISRUPTIVE ROLES
Isolate- Logan, Deserts the group, withdraws from participation, uninvolved and resists efforts to be involved in decision-making
Clown- Ian, Engages in horseplay, thrives on practical jokes and comic routines. Diverts members attention away from the serious discussion of ideas and issues.
Fighter/Controller- Rachel, Tries to dominate group, competes with members. Abuses those who disagree, interrupts to interject own opinions into discussion.
Zealot- Mileini, Tries to convert members to a pet cause or idea. Delivers sermons to group on state of the world. Exhibits fanaticism.
COHESIVENESS
Though we are very different, we have found a way to work effectively and efficiently on the tasks we receive as a small group.
WHEN
April 17th After School
Panic and chaos ensues when this person is not in class.
Who is Rachel?
PERFORMING
When assigning roles, we did "dwarf" names that corresponded with our actual group roles. Ian, being the clown, was "Dopey". Mileini, being self-reserved, was named "Bashful". Logan was "Grumpy," just look at him. Rachel was "Doc" also self-explanatory.
This team member's role is being FAB AT FIFTY!
Who is Claudia?
GROUP SYNERGY
Connectedness- Humor
Communication- Brutal honesty
Collaboration- Group Accountability
WHERE
The connection center
We wouldn't be graduating next week without this team member.
Who is Mileini?
CONFLICT MANAGEMENT
We rarely truly conflict. The one time we did, we kind of just forgot about it and moved on.
DECISION MAKING/PROBLEM SOLVING
We engage in what we like to call a "democratic dictatorship". Most of the time Rachel just makes the decisions, but can be overruled by majority rules.
GROUP CLIMATE
Lighthearted, easy-going, sarcastic, and procrastinating.
WHY
To combat ignorance towards differing cultures by educating about them in a fun climate/celebrating diversity.
The official team motto
What is "Blood for the Blood God"?
