Should we clean after a bottle breakage?
Yes. Check / clean within rotor and under rotor.
Moisture on bottles, continue to load?
No. Use dry wipes to remove moisture.
Should carts be cleaned daily or Friday?
At least daily and as needed.
Clean benchtop once; at end of the day?
No. Beginning and as needed throughout the day.
Hand tighten bottles?
No. Only calibrated torque wrench.
Turn off centrifuge in middle of a run?
No. Will not brake and run for longer period.
Does diluted Spor-klenz have a shelf life?
Yes, 1 week.
Rinse labware after use?
Yes, remove salts, residue & protein.
Where should the parting line face?
Face away (opposite) from the center of the rotor.
Pockets of water in canister, continue to run?
No. Use dry wipes to remove water.
Should labware be soaked under water?
Yes. Ensures complete removal of residues including protein.
Recovery 1L boxes need not be cleaned?
Drain water, rinse and ensure it is clean before use
Bottle not fully inserted into canister. Continue?
No. Bottle should be fully inserted
Temperature set point should be checked before run?
Yes, even if program is selected.
What needs to clean/replace under fume hood?
Replace bench paper and probe.
How often fill line clearance document?
Beginning, during and after process.
Why do we balance the bottles?
Avoid centrifuge imbalance.
O-rings missing. Load bottle and centrifuge?
No. Place O-rings and ensure no twisting.
Spray ethanol and then spor-klenz?
No. Spor-klenz, 15 minuts, ethanol wipe and then spray ethanol. Start process after ethanol is dried.
Clean lab upon chloroform spill?
Yes, Be safe, inform and verify before cleaning.
