Ad Hominem
“My cat scratched me, so clearly cats are evil.” Fix it.
Hasty generalization. Fix: One scratch doesn’t mean all cats are demons (even though lowkey...).
“This influencer uses this serum so it must work.”
False Authority
“Roommate: You want me to move out just because I left a dish in the sink?”
Straw Man
“If I don’t respond to his text in 2 minutes, he’ll think I hate him and break up with me and then I’ll die alone.”
Slippery Slope
“You can’t believe what she says about mental health, she cries a lot.” Fix it.
Ad hominem. Fix: Someone’s emotions don’t invalidate their knowledge.
