How should a student act/behave in and out of school grounds?
Polite and respectful to peers, staff, and school guests, demonstrating a respect for authority and self-discipline
When is it appropriate to wear gym clothes?
During Gym days!
What is considered bullying/harassment?
bullying, racial harassment or discrimination, cyber-bullying, physical or verbal abuse, slander and sexual harassment or discrimination.
When can someone use their devices?
-Cellphones are prohibited in the classroom. A teacher has full authority to take cellphones away if student chooses to bring them in class
-Cellphones can only be allowed during lunch or off hours
-Devices such as laptops are permitted in the classroom with the permission of a teacher
When does school start? What time should the students be seated in class when class starts
School starts at 8am. Doors will be locked at 8am. If you are late, you need a note from your parents and sign in at the principal's office. Classooms will be locked at the time class starts
When should you wear your school uniform?
Students must wear the school uniform at all times during regular school days. Uniforms must be clean and only includes purchased from VVOG.
What are the rules of videotaping or picture taking?
Videotaping acts of harassment, bullying or violence for the purposes of distribution on social media or entertainment is strictly forbidden.
Can students take pictures of other students?
Only with the exception of consent between the parties. If a student does not get consent of taking pictures, the student will be reprimended
Why is a Code of Conduct necessary?
-Establish and maintain a safe and positive school environment
-Help students develop self-discipline, responsibility and accountability in both their school
-Protect the basic rights of all members of the school community from harm or abuse
What to wear on non-uniform days?
Students must wear clothing that is respectful and does not distract other students from their work
-Students must be prepared for class with all necessary materials
-Damaging or stealing the property of others will not be tolerated and will result in both disciplinary and financial sanctions
-Students are to refrain from eating during class time
-Students are to clean up after themselves
What does misuse of technology mean?
To invade or theaten personal privacy or to dirsupt the school's environment of learning through cyber-bullying, theats, ridicules, spreading rumours, it defaming an individual
What happens if you fail to comply with the Code of Conduct
Failure to comply with these rules will bring about specific disciplinary sanctions. Disciplinary sanctions are graded and applied according to the severity of the infraction, its frequency or both
What should students NOT wear during non-uniform days?
-Ripped Clothing
-Tee shirts with unacceptable language, logos, sexual innuendos
-Tube tops and crop tops
-Visible underwear
-Excessive cleavage
-Short shorts-fingertip rules
What are the rules for illegal substances, weapons, and other prohibited items?
-Possession or use of alcohol or illegal drug of any kind are strictly prohibited at FCA
- in the case of students caught dealing/stealing controlled substances or drug, the police will be contacted. The student may be suspended of expelled
I dont feel safe to keep my devices in my locker. What should I do?
Every locker must have a lock to prevent theft. If you do not feel safe to keep devices to school or make keep your phones at home or hand your devices to the principal for safe keeping.
The following levels of sanctions
1- Talk with the teacher (warning)
2- Talk with the principal
3- communications with the parents
4-meeting with the parents
5-detention (lunch or after school depending on inconvenience)
6-In-school suspension
7- Expulsion
What's the rule on smoking?
Students are not allowed to smoke during school hours including lunchtime and extracurricular activites
What are the rules with Textbooks?
-Textbooks are the property of FCA and are loaned to students for the duration of the course
-Textbooks that are lost or damages beyond normal wear and tear will have to be replaced at the expense of the student
What if my mom needs to contact me?
Parents may contact you by calling the school or sending an email.
