Should you wear hats in school? Can I have materials that are unrelated to learning out during class time?
No, once I enter the school building my hat/hood comes off. I should keep all fidgets, toys, phones in my backpack at all times.
Where should your bookbag go and when should it go there?
On the hooks after EVERYTHING you need for the day unpacked.
When do we pack up and clean up?
Before specials (around 1:00)
When should I get out of my seat during lunch?
You should not have to- you should have everything you need before you sit down.
What should I do when I hear the chime?
Stop what you are doing & eyes on me and voices off
What are our B3 expectations?
Be respectful, be responsible, be a role model.
What is the first thing I should do in the morning?
Read the morning message on the smartboard and get started right away
What things need to be cleaned up at the end of the day?
My desk, the floor, the library, top of drawers etc.
What happens when Mrs. Fernandez blows the whistle 3 times at recess?
Eyes on the teacher, line up in your order immediately if it is your time
What are good times to use the restroom?
In the morning, before lunch, after lunch/recess, before specials
What does it mean to be respectful? Give a few examples.
Follow teacher directions the first time they are given, keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
When should I go get breakfast? What are my teachers expectations for breakfast?
When fifth grade is called. Line up silently and wait for Mrs. Fernandez to dismiss you to WALK on the 3rd tile.
When should I stack my chair?
When your bus or car rider color is called, you should remain in your seat until then.
Hands to yourself, place nicely with others, include everyone, stay away from cars/animals/strangers, stay where we can see you, etc.
When should I sharpen my pencil?
You should have at least 2 sharpened pencils ready to go in the morning, if they break wait until independent work time when Mrs. Fernandez isn't teaching or a student is sharing
What does it mean to be responsible? Give a few examples.
Complete assignments in a timely manner, be prepared by bringing supplies & assignments to class each day.
What noise level am I on in the morning? What am I working on? Should I be on my laptop?
Silent/whisper while working on morning work that is posted on board. My laptop should only be out if that is one of the diretcions.
What noise level are we at for dismissal?
What are lunchroom expectations? Give at least 3 examples.
Behave as you would at the dinner table, inside voices, no sharing food, tap and stack, clean up after yourself, etc.
What should I do if I need supplies?
Ask a neighbor or ask Mrs. Fernandez. DO not sit there and simply not do your work.
What does it mean to be a role model? Give a few examples.
Be on task by completing assignment and participating in activities/discussions, Remain in your seat unless given permission to leave
What are some things I should be getting done in the morning? (name at least 3)
Sharpen pencils, use the restroom, fill water bottle, turn in HW, Morning work, unpack
What do I need to pack up at the end of the day?
EVERYTHING I need for homework because you cannot come back. Thursday folder on Thursdays
BONUS QUESTION: When should you be exhibiting B3 behavior?
at ALL TIMES! In the classroom, in the hallways, with your friends, with your teacher, when nobody is looking, at home with your parents and siblings, in the cafeteria, etc.
When should I get out my supplies for each subject?
Read the board each morning to know what materials are needed for the day. Make sure to ask if you need any materials!
