What is Serif fonts have a decorative line embellishment at the tip of the character. For example, Times Roman, Century, Palatino, Garmond.

A Sans Serif font, means "Without serif" and is a plain looking text good for use in Web Sites. For example, Arial, Geneva, Helvetica, Tahoma. It does not have the fancy serifs on the tip of each letter.

A Proportional font style is one whose letters save space and are all different sizes. This is more commonly used. For example, Arial, Times New Roman, Helvetica, Geneva, etc.

When you Sort Ascending, you apply the sort to LASTNAME and you see ALL the records in the table, organized from first to last name.
