Boyle's Law states that the pressure and the volume of a gas sample are inversely proportional when the temperature and the amount of gas are constant. Mathematically this becomes: P1V1 = P2V2, where P and V may be in any self consistent units.


Charles's Law states that the volume of a gas sample is directly proportional to its absolute temperature when the pressure is held constant. In mathematical terms this becomes

Avogadro's Law states that equal volumes of gases at the same temperature and pressure contain the same number of molecules.
