Because they did not want the defiled food (food that was sacrificed to idols) from the king’s table.

They wanted to be like the other nations. Saul was the first king.

Saul defeated thousands but David defeated tens of thousands.

David was a shepherd.

Daniel and his friends prayed to God asking that this mystery be revealed to them, and God had revealed it to Daniel in a vision at night. The king said that the God of Daniel is the God of gods and the lord of king and he glorified God and his friends.

Faith is necessary to please God. Abraham had faith and left the Ur of Chaldeans for the Promised Land. Noah believed that there would be a flood and built an Ark. The centurion believed that Jesus could only say the word and his servant would be healed.
Why didn’t Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego worship the idol?
Because they worshipped and served the living God.
What did Saul do that he wasn’t supposed to do?
He made a sacrifice offering that the priest can only do.
David was chased by Saul, but on the occasion of revenge, he pities his enemy. What did David do instead of killing Saul?
“And David went unnoticed to Saul and drew the hem of Saul’s cloak. So David took the spear and the pitcher of water, which stood by Saul’s head, and went away.”

Because God always forgives a sinner and then comes in repentance. David loved God and repented greatly.
