North for a season,
Then back south,
Up and down,
Here and gone again.

An amendment that grants women power
Through the ballot box.
But my hope is like a migrating bird,
Here and gone again.
Sometime my hope land
There on Capitol Hill.
A few admire its powerful wings, urge it to stay-
But not enough.
My hope take flight,
Here and gone again.
