What is the concept of the 'solidarity economy' and what was one example that we learned yesterday of this?
An economic system (often local/ community) that is based on reciprocity, mutual aid, and collective action that opposes the logic of the capitalist economy (for profit, profit over needs, competition, exclusion)
Examples:
-community garden (produced food for the people with little/no charge)
-Voz da Communidades (knowledge commons and providing news, information, and knowledge for free)
-Vale Encantado (sewage system for the community)
