In what year did the muslims conquer Spain and who was the main leader/the person that led the army of muslims to victory?
The Muslims began the conquest of Spain in 711 CE, under the leadership of Tariq ibn Ziyad. He was a Berber general who led the Muslim forces across the Strait of Gibraltar and defeated the Visigothic king, Roderic, at the Battle of Guadalete. This victory paved the way for the rapid Islamic conquest of the Iberian Peninsula.
