The story of the golden calf. When Moses discovered that the Israelites had created a golden calf to worship, he was furious and broke the two tablets of the Ten Commandments. Moses fasted for 40 days and 40 nights and prayed earnestly for God's grace. God listened to Moses and showed mercy to Israel when they rebelled against him and made their own god. He was patient with the Israelites.
