what is the difference between a dominant & recessive gene?

Not gonna lie, this answer should be kind of obvious

100

through what process do zygotes divide?

mitosis

100

There are no questions left so, uh... name to four bases of DNA

adenine (A), cytosine (C), guanine (G), and thymine (T)

100

What is the longest stage in the cell cycle

Interphase

100

what are homeotic genes?

genes that regulate the development of an anatomical structure

200

what is a gamete?

haploid reproductive cell

200

how many sets of chromosomes do humans have?

23

200

what is one of the two halves of a chromosome called?

Chromatids

200

what are the three stages of the cell cycle

Interphase, Mitosis, Cytokinesis

200

through what process are haploid gametes made from diploid?

meiosis

300

what does diploid mean?

something about homologous pairs of chromosomes

300

what is the difference between genotype and phenotype

one is the physical appearance, one is the genetic makeup, as for which one is which you should know

300

what is the centromere?

the binding point of two chromatids

300

there are like zero questions left... so what is the third phase of mitosis?

anaphase

300

what is codominance?

different alleles being expressed at the same time

400

what is a haploid cell?

they have one set of chromosomes

400

What animal's fur changes color depending on temperature?

like all of them do, but I am looking for the Himalayan rabbit

400

how many sets of autosomes do we meat popsicles have?

22

400

name a phase of mitosis, I guess...

You should know this

400

What are Mendel's three genetic principles?

Heredity, Segregation, Independent assortment

500

what is the basis of asexual reproduction?

mitosis

500

explain one of Mendel's genetic principles in detail

Heredity- when two different alleles are present for a trait, one is dominant and its trait is expressed; the other is recessive and is hidden unless both alleles are recessive.

Segregation-Each organism carries two alleles for a trait. These alleles separate during the formation of gametes, so each gamete carries only one allele for each trait.

Independent assortment- Genes for different traits are passed on independently of one another during gamete formation, if they are on different chromosomes or far apart on the same chromosome.

500

what is a mutation?

a random change in the replication of bases

500

what are the four phases of mitosis... in order

prophase, metaphase, anaphase, telophase

500

How can an organism's environment affect its phenotype?

things such as temperature can change the color of an animal's fur.
