Terminology
The verification form that students must notarize to verify their identity/statement of educational purpose (SEP).
What is V4?
These funding options may be available outside of FAFSA loans and Pell. (Give at least 3)
What are scholarships, institutional grants, employer assistance, military benefits, private loans, and cash payments.
If someone is active-duty military, a veteran with an honorable discharge, or a dependent of a service member who is eligible to have benefits transferred to them, they may qualify for this grant.
What is the Military grant?
These must be corrected on the Master Screen before flipping a student (there are 5).
What are student status, admissions officer, campus, program, and start date?
After each appointment, financial aid will mark the student's name in a color according to the call's results. This is what each color means. (There are 4 main ones)
What is yellow-missed appointment, orange-rescheduled, red-did not accept, and green-accepted?
The student will not receive Pell if this number is too high.
What is EFC?
If a student lives in this state, they may qualify for one of our institutional scholarships.
What is Tennessee (TN)?
This is a financial aid benefit paid to eligible members of the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard, that needs to be applied for at least 14 days prior to the start date.
What is tuition assistance (TA)?
This should be in the student's "activities" file before they flip.
What is FA - start ready?
These demographics must be filled in before a student can flip.
What are gender, ethnicity, race, and marital status?
Once a student completes their FAFSA with an advisor, they will need an FAFU in about 2 days (after 3:30pm) to review this.
What is their ISIR?
Sarah said her work is offering to pay for her tuition once she submits her grades. If she turns in approval documentation to the FA office, she may qualify for this type of financial assistance.
What is tuition reimbursement?
These documents are needed prior to a financial aid call for military spouses.
What are DD214 for Veterans/Copy of Orders or Zoom Call with FAO to show Military ID for Active, and marriage certificate?
If a student chooses to receive their remaining stipend amount, this form should be uploaded in their documents.
What is Direct Deposit?
Kelsey is interested in becoming a Nurse. You remember her telling you that she is an EMT. She may qualify for this grant.
What is the First Responder grant?
These 2 documents are completed at the end of a financial aid call if the student decided to use loans (their agreement to pay the loans back).

These documents are needed for military dependents.
What is DD214 for veterans/Copy of active duty orders, or zoom call with FAO to show military ID for active duty and birth certificate?
The Ledger Card is one way to tell if this fee has/has not been withdrawn as scheduled.
What is the application fee (Promise to Pay)?
(Online has the promise to pay spread sheet the DOA’s can check, also. If the student paid online, this can also be verified before it posts to the ledger in the EP activity history tab)
Once this form is printed, we have it pulled to see which schools have previously run the student's financial aid. (FAO’s are also listing the schools in the EP notes for easier access)
What is NSLDS?

If a student needs their financial aid cancelled from their most recent school, they need this cleared.
What is COD?
This "last resort" loan may be awarded as part of the student's financial aid package when other funds are insufficient to cover tuition, fees, and textbooks.
What is the South College loan?
Military (veteran) affiliated students will receive this letter if they qualify for the Post 9/11 GI Bill.
What is COE - Certificate of Eligibility?
If a student has an out of pocket payment, you can check this in the Student Accounts to see if it has/has not processed.
What is the Ledger Card?
When this number is in parentheses, the student has no out of pocket.
