Pick up your mail daily -- mail checks from collection box or post office, not your mailbox
Keep record of account numbers, expiration dates, and phone/address of all companies that have your info
Keep eyes on your card during transactions
Save receipts to compare with billing statements
Open bills promptly and reconcile accounts monthly
Report any shady charges ASAP and in writing
