What is Shelter-In-Place

A shelter-in-place is a safety action where people stay inside their current location to protect themselves from a danger outside the building.

Instead of evacuating, the goal is to remain indoors, limit exposure, and stay safe until authorities say it’s safe to move.

  • Close and lock doors and windows
