What is a Secondary Search?
Hose Line to protect the egress of fire attack crews.
What is a BAck-up Line?
Is composed of 1 inlet and 1 exhaust and the connecting volume between the openings.
What is Flow Path?
Attacking the seat of the fire from the exterior?
What is an Offensive Exterior Attack?
Designated area away from the incident for incoming resources to respond to prior to being assigned.
What is Staging?
The entire structure has had a primary and secondary search completed.
What is All Clear?
Next line in to support and assist in fire attack.
What is a Secondary Line?
Smoke escapes at the high point while fresh air enters below.
What is Bi-Directional Flow?
The Coordinated use of mechanical ventilation to help with fire suppression.
What is positive Pressure Attack (PPA)?
Attacking the fire from safe, distant exterior location.
What is Defensive Mode/Strategy.
Stating interior conditions, your current actions, remaining air supply and needed resources.
What is a CAAN Report?
Hose deployed from water source to incident.
What is a Forward Lay?
Air enters one opening and smoke exits another.
What is Uni-Directional Flow?
