What must students do for missing work?
Students must come and see teachers to discuss missing or incomplete work and arrange a time to complete it.
What is the final grade requirement for Grade 8 to be promoted?
A final report card grade of “C” or above in reading is required.
What is the total cost of the graduation fee?
The full graduation fee is $150.00
Are birthday parties allowed in school?
No, birthday parties are not allowed
What happens to student cell phones during the school day?
All student cell phones and Apple watches are collected and kept in the office
How long do students have to complete missing work?
Students must complete missing work within one week of the assignment date.
What grades need a “C” or above for promotion in grade 8?
Final report card grades of “C” or above in reading, math, science, and social sciences
What items are included in the graduation fee?
Cap, gown, grad pack, student t-shirt, yearbook, 8th grade picnic, and field trips (excluding Ventra card).
What should families refrain from bringing for birthdays?
Families are not permitted to bring edible/non-edible items including balloons or decorations.
What must a student do if they lose their Chromebook?
There is a fee of $350 for a lost or damaged Chromebook.
What happens if a student is absent for over a week?
Teacher discretion will be used for absent students regarding the completion of work
What is the impact of unexcused absences on promotion?
More than 3 unexcused absences can affect a student's promotion status.
When is the payment for the graduation fee due?
Payment is due before January 23rd.
How are birthdays acknowledged in the classroom?
Birthdays will be acknowledged in the classroom by their peers.
What is the fee for a damaged Chromebook?
The fee is $350.
What is the consequence for work not completed in class?
No missing or incomplete work will be allowed to be completed at home.
What is the policy for summer school if a student has no more than 3 unexcused absences?
They will not be required to attend summer school and will be promoted to the next grade.
What happens if the payment is not received on time?
The cap and gown will NOT be ordered.
What must parents do for field trips?
Parents must sign and return permission slips
What must students do if they need to take their Chromebook home?
A separate form must be filled out.
What happens if a student is present but does not complete work?
They will not be allowed to make up the work
What is the difference between summer school required and not required?
Students not required must meet certain grade criteria, while those required have grades below “C” and must show progress in interventions.
How will students be measured for their cap and gown?
All students will be measured at the school.
What is the rule about siblings on field trips?
Siblings or any other family members are not permitted to attend field trips.
What devices are prohibited on field trips?
Cell phones, Apple watches, and other smart devices are prohibited.
