This summer, you may have partaken in this activity.  Especially when it's warm out and your heading to the beach.  COWABUNGA!!!

What is surfing/paddle boarding/boogie boarding?

Students must have a proper pair of these everyday for class.  No, we're not going to run to Half Moon Bay and back, but yes, we will be running the mile from time to time and a decent pair of these will help you improve.

What are shoes?

The muscle is stretched by taking your hand, placing it on the opposite side of your head, and gently pulling it to one side.

What is the sternal mastoid?

Many people take to nature to just enjoy the quiet and the beauty around them.  Pacifica has many trails for this.  Make sure that you bring enough water and the proper shoes.

What is hiking?

No matter what, all you need to do during fitness testing in order to do well is this to your repetitions, time, etc.

This must be printed clearly on all of your PE attire.  If it begins to fade, a PE teacher can fix it for you.

This MUSCLE attaches from the back of your knee and goes down to a certain tendon.

What is the gastrocnemius?

Time to invite family and friends over.  Set up the backyard badminton/volleyball net.  Hopefully there's a swimming pool as well.  Get ready to have some fun and eat some GREAT food.

What is a BBQ/pool party?

Unfortunately injuries happen.  If you happen to injure your self and are unable to participate in class for more than three days, one of these is required.

What is a doctor's note?

A very popular sport.  You run, pass, receive, maybe even kick.  No, you may not tackle.

It gets very wet at times in the field as you know.  Especially if you are in a PE class during the morning hours, it may be a good idea to have an extra pair of these in your locker.

What are shoes/socks?

You pull one arm ACROSS your chest with the other in order to stretch this muscle.

What is the deltoid?

Pack up the car!  We're headed off to our favorite spot!  Bring the bikes, rafts (hopefully there's a lake or river nearby), marshmallows, firewood, sleeping bags, plenty of ghost stories for sitting around the fire, and oh yeah, the most important item which if you forget, you'll be sleeping outside.

You most likely will not enjoy everything that we do in our class but it is imperative that you show up every day with this.  It'll make getting through the tough stuff more tolerable.

What is a positive attitude?

An ABSOLUTELY amazing sport.  So much fun to play.  We have teams here at IBL.  Sorry 8th grade, you will definitely be in for an incredible whoopin' in the game at the end of the year.

What is basketball?

This class is based on an earned points grading system.  If you are absent it is a zero for the day only because you were not present.  It is your responsibility to get this from your PE teacher.

What is a make up assignment?

This muscle is in the BACK of your arm from your shoulder down to your elbow.

What is the tricep?

Teenagers absolutely love doing these two things.  Summer means no need to go to bed at a decent hour and certainly no need to set the alarm.  YAY!!

What are staying up late and sleeping in?

These three muscular strength/endurance tests are very important.  You will be tested on these four times this year.  We practice two of them on a daily basis.

What are fitness test; push ups, curl ups, and the flexed arm hang?

This is an olympic sport.  Some of you may have played it before.  You must shoot behind the line to score.  You can take three steps and then you must bounce the ball.  Passing and defense make your team better.  No, it is not basketball.

You are INCREDIBLE individuals.  These are three qualities that Mr. Boelter really emphasizes in his class.  Please do your best to make sure that you do not lose this, you are always this (I will never lie to you, please don't lie to me), and even if things are tough, please do your best to have a positive one of these.  I'll always help you with this.

What are trust, honesty, and attitude?

Reaching down to your toes, you are attempting to stretch this muscle in the back of your leg.
