Students must meet at least one of the following:

  • Qualify as a first-generation college student (i.e., neither parent/guardian has received a four-year degree);
  • Meet the federal guidelines for low-income status; or
  • Receive accommodations from the KU Student Access Center.

Applicants must also:

  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident; Be accepted for enrollment or currently enrolled at KU as an undergraduate student pursuing their first bachelor’s degree; and Demonstrate academic need (e.g.: first-semester freshman status, ACT below 21, high school or transfer GPA below 2.5, etc.) and strengths (e.g.:  overall GPA 2.5 or higher, ACT is 21 or higher, persistence toward graduation) for services to qualify.
