Describe the different reception Cartier experienced between his first and second encounters with Donnacona and the First Peoples in the area.
Welcomed: First Peoples provided assistance when men were ill, Cartier taught Donnacona's sons French to help with further exploration.
Rejected: Returned with no survivors (First People's he captured), had to abandon settlement.

British and French were fighting over land.
British took over the colonies in North America, French were either expelled or forced to sign an oath of allegiance to Britain, the First Peoples lost more of their land.

Who were the Acadians, and why were they forced to leave?
Acadia was a French settlement in Eastern Canada. The British started to invade French land, men were arrested and women/children were kicked out.
This was to avoid a future uprising between the French and British.
