Having fun is an important part of learning. What are two things students must practice while having fun in class?
1. Students must keep themselves under control by knowing when to return to business.
2. Students must be careful not to be rude to others when making jokes.

The zero will be entered when the assignment is due.

When can you use the bathroom?
Bathroom breaks should be between classes. There can be exceptions when a student has a medical issue or bathrooms are full between classes.
There is one other method of interacting with Ms. Laramie outside of class time. What is it?
You can add a note to the "Stream" in Google classroom.
What are two things students must have with them in class every day?
1. their Chromebook
2. a book to read.
What percentage of your grade is for participation?
40%
How many points a day does a student lose daily for late assignments.
A student loses 10% daily until they reach 40% at four days. After that, an assignment can still be submitted for a maximum score of 60% within the 9 weeks it was assigned
What kinds of food and drinks can you have in class?
Water with a lid.

Your parent or guardian is to write Ms Laramie an email confirming you went over the course syllabus with her.
If a student misses class with an excused absence, where will they find their make-up work?
Lessons are listed in Google classroom daily. Each week is dated, and all the lessons for that week are labeled by the day of the week.
You will keep a journal in this class and you will have writing assignments. What percentage of your grade are these writing exercises?
20% for the journal
20% for writing assignments
Why is a temporary zero added to Wengage when a student is absent?
The zero serves as a reminder that an assignment is due.
Why are we NOT supposed to have food in class.

If we should go to distance learning, how will you have class?
Students should check the Google classroom stream during regular class time for information about how we will continue with our lessons.
What are the three things that can cause a student to lose participation points?
1. Sleeping or not engaged in class.
2. Unprepared for class (no novel, no Chromebook, Chromebook not charged etc)
3. A student is disrespectful to the teacher or others in the classroom.
You will earn an automatic zero that cannot be made up if you are found to have...
1. Copied another person's work.
2. Looked up answers during a test.
3. Committed plagiarism.
