Candidates will create a rigorous, standards based integrated unit plan, with all core content areas embedded, differentiated and tailored to the needs of diverse learners in their classrooms.
Candidates will analyze student assessment data to inform implementation decisions and provide timely, specific feedback for student reflection and growth.
Candidates will advocate, provide opportunities and access for all learners in their classroom including meeting the specific learners i.e., IEP, 504, ELL, and Non-Standard English Learners.
Candidates will maintain robust learning environments with high expectations for all that promote learning in culturally diverse settings, engaging in multiple perspectives, and encouraging positive interactions among students.
Candidates will implement a variety of ability appropriate strategies to engage diverse students including, but not limited to English Language Learners and students with special needs, in core content areas with attention to improving student literacy.
Candidates will respond to student work samples, lesson plan implementation reflection, and video evidence of their teaching to demonstrate growth over the term based on pre-determined goals with their fieldwork instructor.

To successfully complete the REAL presentation, you will need to address these two levels in your classroom.

As a performance-based assessment, that is designed to engage candidates in demonstrating their understanding of teaching and student learning in authentic ways. The goals and objectives are to: develop knowledge of subject matter, content standards, and subject-specific pedagogy; develop and apply knowledge of varied students’ needs; consider research and theory about how students learn; reflect on and analyze evidence of the effects of instruction on student learning
