Neither are very reliable at formatting correctly but a citation manager's automated list is a good start. AI can hallucinate information, and often does with references. The reference serves to credit the creator of the work. Errors here can lead to issues with academic integrity and ethics. There can be serious consequences in academics and work for misrepresenting who did what work.
