What are DAF (Donor-Advised Funds)?
Donor-Advised Funds (DAF) allow donors to make a charitable contribution and receive an immediate tax deduction.
Who qualifies for help?
Clients do not have to qualify financially but we place a priority on medically necessary and low-income individuals,
What did FODAC do during Hurricane Katrina
The organization added disaster relief after Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans in 2005.
Does FODAC provide repairs?
The FODAC Repair Shop provides low-cost repairs on wheelchairs and other HME even if you did not get the item from us.
There is a base fee of $25 for each repair. Some more expensive repairs/ replacements have additional charges. The most expensive being a new battery, costing $150-$300.
What do we provide?
Fodac provides over $10 million dollars annually in equipment and services to individuals with disabilities, which enhances their quality of live so they can attend school, keep jobs, and live independently.
Where can equipment be donated?
Equipment can be donated at any FODAC center.
(The three items in highest demand are Wheelchairs, Standers and Strollers!)
Who are Ed and Annie Burchart?
The founders Ed and Annie Burchart started their work through Mount Carmel Christian Church. Collecting and then repairing equipment out of their garage for those in need.
What did FODAC get to help a man with scoliosis?
Male aged 21 immigrant with severe scoliosis.
FODAC was able to get him a bath chair. Along with finding him a wheelchair that could support the severe curve in his spine.
How can individuals, groups/businesses get involved?
Individuals, groups and businesses can host a Home Medical Equipment (HME) drive for FODAC.

Friends of Disabled Adults and Children exists to glorify God by enhancing the quality of life for those who are mobility-impaired due to any physical disability, illness, or injury.

Automobiles and Adaptive Vehicles can be accepted from anywhere in the U.S.

Who did the Leadership switch to 2001?
The leadership changed in 2001 from the Founders to the current President, Chris Brand, who helped guide FODAC through tremendous growth and expansion of services and scope.
What was FODAC able to get for someone who was paralyzed due to Guillain-Barre Syndrome?
Woman's brother became paralyzed due to Guillain-Barre Syndrome.
FODAC was able to find her brother an $8000 sip and puff wheel chair. This chair uses a tube that controls the movement of the chair with air. The user blow into or from the tub to move themselves around.
How does FODAC support and run its events?
FODAC runs events that run with the help of sponsors and volunteers! The next event is a Run, Walk ānā Roll Event ā May 3rd, 2025
