What do you do when a provider is referring a WC patient to another provider?
Do NOT schedule the appointment, send a task to med legal and fax the referral to the adjuster to obtain authorization.
do we collect a copay for MVA patients that are billed under their primary insurance?
Yes because that is a contract they have with their insurance policy.
Who do we send Radiology authorizations too for WC patients?
One call and the adjuster. (except WC Trust they do not get sent to one call)
If a Patient has Medicaid and has never been seen before what is the process?
1. Ask/check for ER referral.
2. check for non on call time slot.
3.Ref patient to be seen at MDSX ED to obtain a referral as are Medicaid Panel is closed.
What is the Self Pay process for new patients checking in?
1. Ask if its WC or MVA.
2. Explain Self Pay policy to patients.
3. Have payment sign no surprise billing.
4.Collect $350.
What do you do with a patients completed FMLA forms when they are checking out?
1. Scan into attachments.
2. Fax if needed.
How is PT and Return to work orders processed for WC patients?
PT: ask patient what location they want to go too, fax order to one call and the adjuster.
WC: Fax PT order to one call and adjuster/ fax Return to work order to adjuster.
What do you do when a radiology order gets denied?
Send a task to the providers for them to decide if they need to do a peer to peer.
What should everyone add as the referral source when checking in an Urgent?
Walk-in tracking.
