The U.S. Small Business Administration is proud to join the Nation in recognizing this occasion. This month-long observance is uniquely placed in the middle of September, a choice by President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1968 because the week of September 15th through September 21st held the National Independence Days for these eight specific countries. In 1988 the Regan Administration would extend this week of rich cultural celebration and reflection to October 15th . By honoring this event, we reinforce our ability to provide equitable and meaningful services to the 63 million citizens who call the United States home.

What are executive / leadership position support and special emphasis programs / partnerships?
When the Federal Employees Clean Air Incentive Act, was signed into law in 1993, it permanently authorized Federal participation in this program, resulting in its expansion throughout the Department of Transportation and other Federal agencies. The Executive Order 13150, signed into law in April 2000, called upon DOT, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Department of Energy to implement a nationwide pilot program, and ascertain its effectiveness in reducing single occupancy vehicle travel and local area traffic congestion. In 2005, the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient, Transportation Equity Act required Federal agencies to implement this programs for all eligible employees.
What is the Transit Benefit Program?
Annual survey that asks federal employees to rate how satisfied they are with mission-support functions and services, how important specific mission-support services are to achieving outcomes, and whether a function serves as an effective strategic partner. Human Capital is a central mission-support function.

Since 1967, this Act (has provided the public the right to request access to records from any federal agency. It is often described as the law that keeps citizens in the know about their government. Federal agencies are required to disclose any information requested under this Act unless it falls under one of nine exemptions which protect interests such as personal privacy, national security, and law enforcement.

In 1961, President Kennedy established a federal community initiative. For over 60 years, members of the Federal community have contributed to charities by giving nearly $8.7 billion to help those in need locally, across the nation, and throughout the world. This is one of the world's largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaigns, with 36 zones throughout the country and overseas raising millions of dollars each year. Every year, SBA employees come together to raise money and volunteer for our favorite charities, spreading happiness around one gift at a time. Since its inception, this Federal tradition has raised near $8.7 billion for charities and people in need. The 2023 theme is "Give Happy.
