To begin with, one of the reason or the colonists to break off from the king's rule was unfair taxes. Grate Britain wanted to raise money for the goods they were sending the colonists. So the king created taxes for the colonists to pay such as the Sugar Act and the Stamp Act. Many of the colonists were angered by the taxes. Each new tax lead to protest by the colonists. "They removed all the taxes on imports to try to make the colonist happy." However they didn't remove the taxes on tea. the colonists were furious. In 1773 a group of mean dumped thousands of pounds of tea into the sea. The rebellious act was nicked named the Boston tea party. To wrap it up, unfair taxes was one of the many good reasons the colonists broke off from British rule.
