You are in drop in and notice a child is coughing every couple minutes and has a runny nose. What are the next steps?
This would be an example from the exemption policy.
First step is to connect with the on site lead to let them know your observation.
Next, you or the onsite lead may ask some questions to gain an understanding as to why the child is coughing. “I’m noticing your child has been coughing during the visit today, could you tell me about it a little?”
If it is determined that the cough is due to illness, the family will be asked to end their visit early. “At EarlyON we do ask all participants to stay home until any symptoms have improved for 24 hours” (48 hours for gastrointestinal). "For today, we will ask that your visit end early and we are happy to welcome you back as soon as they feel better."

Up to 4 hours per year. The training is offered at no-cost and can be completed during regularly scheduled shifts for full-time staff, or as an additional 4 hours per year for part-time staff.

We are not able to photocopy all or part of any of the books without copyright permission in writing from the publisher. A request for permission would come from Senior Leadership at the Y and would not be asked of a publisher at a front line or Supervisory level.

• Any time an EarlyON professional reads a copywritten work within the space, they must explicitly say to the children/families that we do not have copyright permission to have photos or videos taken while our EarlyON professionals are reading onsite books.
