1 - My significant other and I rented a car from Munich, Germany and drove to Vienna, Austria. During the drive, the highway crisscrossed Germany and Austria without any border controls. And, all of the signs are in German regardless of the country. Germany has its autobahn which has no speed limit while Austria has an upper limit of 130 km/h. In one section of the highway on the Austrian side, my car sped past a photo radar in excess of the speed limit. After returning from my trip, I received a letter sent from Austrian written in German indicating that I owe a speed fine and that my credit card would be charged. What happened was...my credit card expired shortly after my trip and the Austrian government was unable to charge me for my traffic violation. So, I may have to pay a fine if I ever return to that country.
