If you are paid, Absolutely! if you are not paid usually you will get a new job so that you can try something new!

Can I play on the baseball/wrestling/basketball etc. teams?
Unfortunately no, after your 4th year in High School you are no longer eligible for school sports.
How many days/hours will I work?
this varies by job and student, ideally you will work more days and hours than you did in high school.
Will I need money for CBI?
I make every effort to keep cost to families minimal, if we take a CBI trip that requires Money you will get advanced notice and if this is hard for your family often we are able to at least partially cover expenses.

Can I participate in clubs with gen ed students at Harford Tech?
YES! clubs are held after school in most cases so you would need to arrange transportation home afterwards.
Do I get to pick my job?
usually no, You will share with Mrs. Kilian and Future Link staff what kind of jobs you are interested in and we will do our best to find a job where you can work on the skills needed to be successful in that job.
The other class does different CBI trips will we do those?
Possibly, we do not often do CBI trips together because when so many students are in the same place the authenticity of learning is decreased. We may do the same trip but on different occassions.
When do students go to work?
All day, students have individual schedules and come and go based on when their jobs start
Why is it important to wash your hands before beginning work in the kitchen?
So you do not spread germs or bacteria to the food
Can I attend the Prom at Harford Tech?
No, as a post secondary program we do not participate in prom or homecoming, You are an adult now!
What if I don't like my job?
This happens all the time, you share your concerns with Future Link Staff and if we cannot make you more comfortable then we will look for a different job placement. Remember, work is called work for a reason so it may not always be easy or fun!
What is CBI?
CBI is an opportunity to practice the skills we learn in class in the community. It is not meant to be a fun day out, usually we have fun but more importantly we practice the skills we are learning in the classroom.
Is Future Link on the same calendar as my High School?
Yes, Future Link follows the HCPS Calendar
Will you still do math and reading at Future Link?
Yes, math and reading are based on real life problems and documents. You will also learn how to maintain a checkbook, pay bills and use a bank teller/ATM
Can I participate in drama productions or chorus?
Yes, both things require tryouts. Future Link students are considered the same as any other Harford Tech Student. Not all who try out will make it in.
How will I get to work?
The Future Link work shuttle will take you to and from work. Always the same busses/staff.
Can I pick the CBI location?
We often talk about what kinds of trips we would like to take as a class. Sometimes the students have the best ideas!
