Student: "What classes are the easiest to cheat in?"
Pep leader: “I wouldn't recommend trying to find a class that's easy to cheat in. If you're worried about a class being difficult, I can help you find tutoring, study resources, or talk through what you're struggling with.”
You overhear a student say that they used AI for their entire project. What do you do?
Offer a warning that many professors have a zero tolerance for the use of AI (available in the teachers syllabus). Tell the student to check their syllabus to see if the faculty mentions what level of AI they allow in their course. You can be sent to student conduct, and they will take measures and impose severe consequences.
Student: "I have an exam on this date, but I cannot make it. What should I do?"
Look at your syllabus first, and then follow their instructions. If the syllabus does not specify, then speak with your professor.

Student: "My classes are becoming too hard, the workload is too much, and I'm thinking about dropping out."
Sympathize with them; make sure they understand that it is going to be hard. Definitely point out the options we offer for tutoring (Math lab, Library commons SI, TA, etc). If you understand the topic, offer to help them. Maybe advise them about time management, maybe adding a planner. To reduce workload, maybe even suggest dropping an organization or even a class (if it will not negatively affect them)
Your student is messaging you after 5:00PM, outside your stated availability. What do you do?
KEEP YOUR BOUNDARIES!!! I would message them back the next morning, answering the questions and reminding them of them of your set availability

Student: "My roommates boyfriend has been staying over a lot more recently, and they drink a lot. I am very uncomfortable with the situation."
Speak with the roommate first, and if the issues do not get resolved, then go talk to the RA.
A student asks for your project from an academic class that you used a few semesters. You are worried that they will use it as their own.
Tell them that there can be heavy consequences for plagiarizing other students work. If you feel comfortable, you can offer to show them, but not send it with them.

Before the story goes far, you need to stop then and tell them you are a mandatory reporter, but that you are happy to take them to meet with your friend Mrs. Dominique.
A student has not been showing up to class, and they are not responding to groupme. What would you do?
Talk to your faculty mentor first to make sure they haven't been able to reach them as well. Then, you can talk to their student success counselor or an RA to do a wellness check. You can also submit a hawk alert if you still are not hearing anything from them.
Your student comes to you and tells you they are failing all of their classes. However, you know that they are skipping classes and not turning in assignments. What do you do?
Explain to them that deadlines are set for a reason. Unlike high school, most college professors do not offer extensions or accept late work. Tell them to look at the syllabus.
