What does Myelin do?
Made out of protein and fatty substances, it insulates and allows electrical impulses to transmit quickly and efficiently along the nerve cells. If myelin is damaged, these impulses slow down. Also helps damaged nerve fibers repair themselves!

What do interneurons do?
Interneurons are only found in the CNS. They connect one neuron to another in a communication train. They receive information from neurons and transmit information to other neurons. Interneurons signal to those motor neurons controlling your finger muscles. Interneurons also would signal up the spinal cord to neurons in your brain, where it would be perceived as pain
