Queen Boudica of Iceni
Celtic Queen during the Roman Empire, she had been trained as a warrior and led her people in an uprising against the Roman Empire. During the battle her and her followers killed approximately 70,000 to 80,000 Romans soldiers and supporters.
Villainized.
Queen Boudica led her revolt when her husband died and left Boudica and their daughters as his successors. Following his death, the Romans annexed her kingdom and had her and her two daughters publicly assaulted and beaten. It was following this brutal act, that Boudica began her revolt. GO BOUDICA <3

Executed in 2001 in Oklahoma.
Plantz was convicted of hiring hitmen to kill her husband for insurance money.

Empress Wu Zeitan of China (Tang Dynasty)
The first and only female empress of China. In her early life she was a concubine to Emperor Taizong, and ruled for approximately 45 years collectively as an independent ruler and through her husbands and sons. She is revered for her focus on promoting the peasant class, ruling with a strong hand, and advocating for a less corrupt government.
Villain.
She created a private spy network to kill and banish real and perceived threats to her power. In one year of her rule, she massacred 12 different branches of the imperial family for opposition to her rule. This was one of several instances where she killed and exiled her own family, including children.

Executed in Florida in 2002. She was convicted of killing seven men.

Byzantine Empress Irene of Athens
The unexpected death of her husband meant the ruling fell to her until her son grew. As her son aged, he staged a rebellion and overthrew her. This revolt only last two years though, before Empress Irene was reinstated and her son deposed.
Villain.
He second accession to the throne after her son's revolt was largely only possible due to conspiracies she led amongst her court supporters. She ultimately gouged his eyes out publicly, with the help of her supporters. After his eyes were removed, he was thrown in prison where he died shortly after.
Betty Butler
Executed in Ohio in 1954.
She was convicted of the strangulation and murder of her "girlfriend".
