How many days does the county have to determine GA eligibility?
Not a Santa Cruz County resident, employed over 100 hours per month, over income, student (unless disabled), in violation of parole, receiving CalWORKs, etc.
What are the reasons someone would be considered ineligible for GA?
SSP14 (Authorization for Reimbursement of Interim Assistance) allows Santa Cruz County to recover funds if they get approved for SSI.
What form must be signed by all applicants for repayment?
BR will review case, and if they are still eligible, adjustments are made. If ineligible, a sanction may apply.
What happens if a recipient fails to report a change in income within 10 days?
$809 per month
What is the maximum GA loan amount for a single person living independently?
First appointment; application is denied and they can reschedule within 30 days.
What happens if an applicant fails to attend their intake interview?
Requested information to determine GA eligibility is listed on this form with 10 days to provide.
What is the WEL 4048?
The appointment is missed, BR will sanction case and may discontinue for non compliance of referral.
What happens if a GA recipient is referred to GA Employment Training (GAET) and does not attend?
On active cases these begin the first of the following month, and duration depends on occurrence.
What is a sanction?
Wages, unemployment benefits, Social Security, rental income, child support, retirement benefits, etc.
What is countable income?
WEL1559 (Screening-App/Reg-Appointment Template) & WEL4068 (GA Screening Sheet).
What are two forms used to screen GA applications?
The lump sum divided by max grant level allotment for the person/s of the household
How do you calculate a period of ineligibility?
GA recipient must attend 3 AA/NA meetings per week and submit a Meeting Log (WEL4066) on the 1st and 15th of each month.
What is an additional requirement for a incapacitated substance abuse-related disability?
If a recipient appeals before the effective date of their NOA, their GA benefits continue until the hearing decision is made.
