Continue the story of the little girl who didn't want to get buckled and explain the principle learned.
What is Sister Stephans' 3 year old granddaughter kept getting unbuckled and standing up as they were driving to her home. Sister Stephans had to pull over several times and re-buckle her, each time without much success. Finally she felt prompted to teach the little girl. She taught her that seat belts are there to keep us safe, and she wanted her granddaughter to be safe. Gospel principle is that seat belts are like standards. Sometimes we feel like they are restrictive and limit our freedom, but really they are there to protect us.

Explain the story of the clay told by Elder Maynes.
What is... Elder Maynes was teaching a group of youth and demonstrated how to make several shapes out of clay on his potter's wheel. He then let them try it, and they failed. Clay flew everywhere and they were discouraged. He showed them that the clay has to be exactly centered on the wheel. When they tried again, it was much smoother. Principle is that we are the clay and work of Christ's hands. If we center on Him, He will be able to mold us into what we are meant to become.

Explain Sister Marriott's story of "It will all work out." (hint: her daughter)
What is... Her family motto is "It will all work out." After learning that her daughter was in a bike accident, Sister Marriott was optimistic that it would all work out. But her daughter died before she was even to the hospital. They all struggled with believing it would work out. However, it doesn't necessarily mean that things will all work out right away. All things eventually work together for our good.

Explain "ponderizing"
What is... 80% pondering and 20% memorizing. Elder Durrant suggested that we pick one scripture per week to ponderize. Put it in several places that you will see it often, and reflect on it. Doing so will help you memorize the teachings of Christ and give your mind a higher place to go.

Explain Elder Stanfill's story of the dark tunnel bike ride
What is... Elder Stanfill and his wife undertook a bike ride. Part of it included a large, very dark tunnel. They were warned to bring strong headlights for themselves and their bikes. They brought some, and felt confident going into it. A little bit in, however, they realized just how dark it was. Their lights did nothing for the engulfing darkness. They became anxious and nervous. He was nervous to ask for help... He realized though that if as a group they all huddled around the man with the brightest light, they were able to make it to the end okay. And there was a great light at the end of the tunnel. Principle: It's okay to get help, trust the advice of others who have gone before you, there is always a light at the end of the dark tunnel.

Explain the Australian "Barrier" story and the principle.
What is... Elder Keetch was on the beach of Australia and came across some very upset surfers. After questioning why they were upset, they pointed out a large barrier out by where all the big fun waves were. They wanted to surf out there, but could not, and didn't understand why. A man came over and had them look through binoculars. They then saw sharks feeding right on the other side of the barrier. "Don't be critical of the barrier. It's the only thing keeping you from being devoured." Principle: Our standards may seem like restrictive barriers, but they are really protecting us from being devoured.
