Elder Gregorio E. Casillas taught:
We have the privilege to watch over people who need a helping hand, an embrace, a feeling of comfort, or for us simply to be with them in silence. If we can help lighten their burdens, even if only for a moment, then we will be able to see the great manifestations of the Savior’s power in their lives.
As disciples of Jesus Christ, Latter-day Saints can make a positive difference in the world. We can provide a sense of joy that is reflected in our countenance—a joy that we share with words of love and acts of kindness. Let us be good neighbors, good employers, good workers. Let us strive to be good _________ at all times.

Elder Jorge M. Alvarado used this example of a friend’s desire to share the gospel and the impact it had on someone else to teach:
I testify of God and of the infinite power of His Son’s Atonement. We can feel it profoundly as we sincerely and wholeheartedly repent.
A woman wrapped up a Book of Mormon to take to a friend as a gift. On her way there, a thief came and stole her purse with the Book of Mormon inside. He later read the book, prayed, asked for forgiveness and decided to change his life. Through the Savior and sincere repentance, he embraced the gospel.
Elder Brook P. Hales declared:
______ works. It is designed to work. Despite the challenges, heartaches and difficulties we all face, our loving, wise and perfect Heavenly Father has designed the plan of happiness such that we are not destined to fail. His plan provides a way for us to rise above our mortal failures.
Mortality

Elder Juan Pablo Villar shared this childhood story to teach:
As we reach out to Jesus Christ in faith, He will always be there.
While playing in the ocean with his older brother, he was dragged in the sea twice. Both times, his brother’s hand reached down and pulled him to the surface, saving him.
Elder Kyle S. McKay taught:

Holiness to the Lord

I testify that our sincere gospel questions can provide Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ with opportunities to help us grow...
I testify that placing your trust in Heavenly Father and in His prophets, whom He has sent, will help you to spiritually elevate and push you forward toward God’s expanded horizon. Your vantage will change because you will change. God knows that the higher you are, the farther you can see. Our Savior invites you to make that climb.
When Sister Browning was a child, Pluto was considered the ninth planet in our solar system. Only later, with more questions and knowledge, it was discovered that Pluto was part of a new region of space and the solar system had eight planets.
President Russell M. Nelson promised and counseled:
There is no limit to the Savior’s capacity to help you. His incomprehensible suffering in Gethsemane and on Calvary was for you! His infinite Atonement is for you!
I urge you to devote time each week—for the rest of your life—to increase your understanding of _______________. My heart aches for those who are mired in sin and don’t know how to get out. I weep for those who struggle spiritually or who carry heavy burdens alone because they do not understand what Jesus Christ did for them.
Jesus Christ took upon Himself your sins, your pains, your heartaches, and your infirmities. You do not have to bear them alone! He will forgive you as you repent. He will bless you with what you need. He will heal your wounded soul. As you yoke yourself to Him, your burdens will feel lighter.

Contention
This person promised and counseled:
I testify to you that following the Lord’s will in our life will enable us to find the most precious pearl in the world—the kingdom of heaven. I pray that each of us, in our time and turn, will be able to declare, with covenant confidence, to our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ that “what works for Thee, works for me.”
Elder Ulysses Soares
Sister Kristin M. Yee used this story to teach:
Repenting allows us to feel God’s love and to know and love Him in ways we would never otherwise know.
Sister Yee felt impressed to paint a portrait of the Savior and felt He would help her. When applying a varnish to finish the painting, it smeared and ruined the Savior’s hair because it wasn’t dry enough. She prayed and pleaded for help and worked all through the night . The next morning, the Savior’s hair and the painting looked better than it had before.
President Henry B. Eyring used this family story to teach:
I bear witness of the sacred work of teaching Heavenly Father’s children the simple doctrine of Jesus Christ, which allows us to be spiritually cleansed and ultimately be welcomed into God’s presence, to live with Him and His Son in glory forever in families.
President Eyring’s great-grandmother Mary Bommeli lived in Berlin and was jailed for teaching the doctrine of The Church of Jesus Christ. She wrote a letter to the judge bearing witness of Jesus Christ and suggesting he needed to repent. Mary was released from jail without charges.
Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf taught:
_____ is beautiful because it persists even when blessings don’t come as hoped for. We can’t see the future, we don’t know all the answers, but we can trust Jesus Christ as we keep moving forward and upward because He is our Savior and Redeemer.
_____ endures the trials and the uncertainties of life because it is firmly rooted in Christ and His doctrine. Jesus Christ, and our Father in Heaven who sent Him, together constitute the one undeviating, perfectly reliable object of our trust.
FAITH
Elder Neil L. Andersen used this story to teach:
May we nurture our precious faith, pressing forward with a perfect brightness of hope. I testify that our hope is our Savior, Jesus Christ. Through Him, all our righteous dreams will be realized. He is the God of hope—the triumph of hope. He lives and He loves you.
Trey Andersen, a faithful relative who was excited to serve a mission, recently passed away due to complications from a long-anticipated heart transplant. His parents have found hope in Jesus Christ and the promise of a joyful reunion with their precious son because of Him.
Elder D. Todd Christofferson taught:
May we bury — very, very deep — any element of ____ against God in our lives and replace it with a willing heart and a willing mind.
Rebellion
Elder David A. Bednar gave this warning:
Ancient voices from the dust plead with us today to learn this everlasting lesson: Prosperity, possessions and ease constitute a potent mixture that can lead even the righteous to drink the spiritual poison of _____.
Pride
President Jeffrey R. Holland declared:
Christ’s _____—evident in complete loyalty to divine will—persisted and continues to persist, not just through the easy and comfortable days but especially through the darkest and most difficult ones.
CHARITY
President Russell M. Nelson taught:
Brothers and sisters, ___ is the time for you and for me to prepare for the Second Coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ. ___ is the time for us to make our discipleship our highest priority. In a world filled with dizzying distractions, how can we do this?
Regular worship in the temple will help us. In the house of the Lord, we focus on Jesus Christ. We learn of Him. We make covenants to follow Him. We come to know Him. As we keep our temple covenants, we gain greater access to the Lord’s strengthening power. In the temple, we receive protection from the buffetings of the world. We experience the pure love of Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father in great abundance! We feel peace and spiritual reassurance, in contrast to the turbulence of the world.
Here is my promise to you: Every sincere seeker of Jesus Christ will find Him in the temple.
