  • Make two documented attempts of outreach
  • educate the member that the letter is informational only, if the member wishes to proceed with a Grievance the episode will be assigned to LOB specific nurse based on the member’s request.  A request for records should be triggered in Jiva. 
  • If Outreach is unsuccessful- document the two attempts and assign to a LOB specific nurse based the inability to reach the member. A request for records should be triggered in Jiva as well as a Ack Letter.
  • If the appeal request is provider initiated, follow the Consent process prior to the above steps.
